As a mother, musician and academic, Katharine Hawnt’s expertise encompasses a diverse range of areas.
Her performing career as a singer within the Historically Informed Performance (Early Music) industry has led her to work with some of Europe’s leading conductors and ensembles, with solo and choral performances across the continent and beyond.

Research
For all historically informed performers, research is a big part of their musical careers. Katharine took this a step further by beginning a PhD at the University of Southampton 2014-2021.

Teaching
Katharine has a strong, technique led approach to encouraging healthy voice use and specialises in helping young singers develop their voice and expand their repertoire.
Performing
Katharine is a versatile singer with a reputation for a pure and honest tone and natural approach to singing. She has performed regularly throughout Europe, as a soloist and ensemble member.
